The Au Au Channel separates the Hawaiian islands of Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Kahoolawe. Corners of those islands are visible in this swath, with the both land and sea shown in warm-yet-cool, vibrant-yet-relaxing tones and strokes. All brushstrokes on land share a common origin point, as do the Channel’s brushstrokes.Selective iridescent glazing of the water highlights the very energetic yet non-threatening nature of Hawaii’s friendliest shorelines.
Painted exclusively using drybrush technique.
