“Haida Guai (The Queen Charlotte Islands)”
The big archipelago off British Columbia. The convoluted shoreline lends itself to nearly-blotchy brushwork. The “splashy” white area – nearly icy – surrounding the islands speaks to their northerly location in the middle of the cold Pacific Current.
Judicious use of specialized paints results in a startling color shift as lighting conditions change.
12″x24″ acrylic on stretched canvas (1.5″-deep “gallery wrap”)
